Ayurvedic Foot Massage
Ayurvedic Foot Massage: is a relaxing holistic treatment, which can help balance the body, mind and spirit. This massage acts upon the feet and lower legs (toes, feet, ankles, calves) with particular emphasis on Marma points, Chakras, prescribed movements with a small 3-metal bowl (kansa vatki) and simple massage techniques. The use of ghee (clarified butter), coconut oil, shea butter or other oils, is essential. This soothing treatment helps to draw out excess heat, leaving the entire body cool, refreshed and relaxed. The treatment involves specific moves performed with the bowl (kansa vatki) that helps to re-balance the three Doshas of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The metals contained within this alloy are copper, zinc and tin and this sacred metal alloy (Kansa) is known in Ayurveda, India’s traditional holistic healing system, as the ‘healing metal’. It is thought that copper may help in reducing pain and inflammation, zinc in aiding the digestive and immune systems while tin is believed to aid digestion as well as headaches and insomnia.
Marma points are an important element of Ayurveda's healing power, these energy points profoundly affect the body, mind and spirit and facilitate the deepest levels of healing. Prana is the current of energy that infuses every cell within the body.
