Metamorphosis: studies have shown that a baby is aware of what is happening outside the womb and if mother-to-be experiences any trauma, anxiety or is unhappy during pregnancy or birthing process, the baby will pick up the emotions that can cause anxiety. The baby will then carry the anxiety into the world with it and this could have an effect on their behaviour throughout their lives.
Metamorphosis is concerned with change and transformation. Some changes are immediately noticeable, whilst others are more subtle. These changes can range from significant improvements in physical, mental or emotional health to general feelings of having more energy and confidence, releasing old habits or gradually letting go of past hurts. Use of the technique enables us to move from feelings of limitation towards accessing more of our potential.
The technique involves a light touch on the spinal reflexes of the feet, hands, and head. During the session you can either talk, or choose to quietly relax. A safe, relaxing space is provided where you can ‘just be’. It is not concerned with addressing specific symptoms or problems. It is not a massage or even a healing. There is no diagnosis or physical manipulation.
People are often drawn to the Metamorphosis during periods of transition or difficulty – whether it be bereavement, illness, divorce, career change, moving home or simply seeking to move forward creatively. You may feel at a crossroads or 'stuck' in your life. Some may wish to make deep inner changes without having to analyse the past, others find that they are able to deal with stressful situations more effectively.
Metamorphosis is suitable for anyone, of any age. Children love it! It is safe if you are well and strong, ill or dying. People with all kinds of disabilities can enjoy receiving sessions. It is safe to receive in conjunction with conventional medicine or complementary therapies. It is fine for pregnant women to have sessions and the unborn child can benefit too. The client can watch television, read, sleep, meditate or chat.
Another further aspect to Metamorphosis is that the founder, Robert St John worked extensively with special needs clients, particularly those with Down’s syndrome and autism, and he realised that the treatment was particularly beneficial to these groups of clients.
