About Simply Calm

Simple, tailored support that makes sense

At Simply Calm, we help families make sense of the hard moments, because understanding changes everything. We offer online sessions, on-demand coaching and bite-sized workshops that stick to what actually helps: clear tools, candid, collaborative conversation, and hope that it won't always be this way.

Because every brain shows up with its own playlist, our approach flexes with you and your family. From anxious homes to burnt-out parents who feel like they're wading through clay, we've got you. We offer evidence-based care alongside realistic, practical habits that fit every home.

Simply Calm is a space where parents and carers can access real, meaningful support.

What we support

The things families bring to us

Anxiety

Anxiety rarely shows up the way people expect. It can look like meltdowns, avoidance, perfectionism, or a child who insists everything's fine right up until it isn't. We help you understand what's actually driving it, not just manage the symptoms, with practical tools that fit into real life rather than a worksheet nobody has time for. No referral or diagnosis needed to start.

Sleep

Sleep is often the first thing to go and the hardest thing to fix, especially when anxiety, sensory needs or a racing mind are behind it. We look at what's actually happening at bedtime and through the night, rather than handing over a generic sleep hygiene checklist, and help you build a routine that works for your child's brain and your family's reality.

Neurodiversity

We bring both professional expertise and lived understanding to neurodiversity, treating it not as something to fix, but as a different way of experiencing the world that deserves to be properly understood. We help families make sense of masking, sensory needs, and how a neurodivergent brain copes at school and at home, and build strategies that work with your child rather than against them. No diagnosis required.

Food & eating

Food can become a genuine battleground, especially for autistic children or those with ARFID, where it's rarely about fussiness and almost always about sensory experience, control or anxiety. Carmen and Alison bring particular expertise in family-based approaches to eating difficulties, and we work alongside you to reduce mealtime stress and build a relationship with food that doesn't rely on pressure or bribery.

Low mood

Low mood in children and young people doesn't always look like sadness. It can look like withdrawal, irritability, or losing interest in things they used to love. We work with the family to understand what's changed, then build small, realistic steps back toward connection and routine, at a pace that actually fits your household.

And much more

Between Carmen's family therapy training and Alison's experience working with children who are care experienced, we've supported families through more than any list of topics could ever cover. If what you're facing isn't mentioned here, that doesn't mean we can't help.

The girls are so friendly, knowledgeable and made everything easy to understand. It was reassuring to hear practical advice from people who really get neurodiversity and addiction. I came away feeling calmer and knowing my next steps.

I have just sat through my first Crowdcast with the girls and not only were they so down to earth but they gave me hope. They are very knowledgeable about neurodiversity and the strategies and support that is out there.
